Technology

Dental Technology makes for faster and less invasive treatments and more predictable outcomes for our patients. We invest in the latest dental technology when we believe that it will benefit our patients by making their visits more comfortable and give them better results.

The advanced equipment we use at McMillan Family Dental includes:

iTero Element 5D

This 3D digital scanner makes taking dental impressions a breeze. No more sloppy, sticky putty. It’s all done with this amazing handheld instrument that takes highly detailed digital images of teeth and gums. We use the iTero scanner for our patients undergoing Invisalign® treatment and any time a treatment requires high-resolution imaging of their teeth.

Fotona Lightwalker AT S Laser

Lasers are used for a variety of treatments in dentistry, including gum contouring, conservative treatments, implants, oral surgery, cosmetic dentistry, and facial treatments (LipLase™, SmoothLase®, and NightLase®), and so much more. The Fotona Lightwalker is the premier dental laser, making it possible to perform such treatments quickly and non-invasively, without cutting, reducing discomfort and healing time.

Planmeca Cone Beam imaging unit

3D imaging helps our doctors see details that are not visible with traditional X-ray imaging, for more detailed treatment planning and more accurate results. Our Planmeca cone bean scanner gives us the opportunity to provide the best outcomes for our patients who need dental implants, orthodontics, endodontics, and more.

MLS (multiwave locked system) laser

This breakthrough technology is considered the most advanced laser system for treating pain and inflammation. The non-invasive laser reaches deep into tissue to provide pain relief and promote healing. We use this amazing technology to treat gum disease, TMJ disorders, and more.

“Many practices do not yet have technology like the Fotona laser and 3D imaging. For us, it’s a standard of care. We couldn’t offer all that we do without it.”
